Seasonal Celebrations- Spring Weddings

Spring is such a special time of year whe the days become longer and the flowers are blooming. This sets the scene for some beautiful colour palettes and fun theme ideas. There are a couple of current wedding trends that lend themselves to a spring wedding, take a look at some of the ideas below which will hopefully inspire you during the planning process.

Throughout March, April and May there is an array of different flowers blooming throughout the Dundas Estate. From the bright yellow daffodils to the pink and purple rhododendrons, you can pick from a selection of stunning backgrounds.

If floral backdrops are not your thing, take advantage of our Garden of Peace or double swing for more relaxed photographs among nature.

As the days become longer and warmer, why not have an outdoor wedding ceremony? Our Courtyard suits couples who are looking for an open air setting and the gardens in front of the Castle provide a breathtaking backdrop for exchanging your vows.

If you would prefer an indoor ceremony, why not dress up the room with stunning floral arrangements to reflect the season. Our Auld Keep is full of character but can be designed to fit your theme, we suggest adding lots of candles and small posies to enhance the romantic atmosphere.

Now the days are becoming warmer, why not personalise your drinks reception with fruity cocktails or pitchers of Pimms. You can also tailor the catering to have light and tasty dishes full of seasonal produce.

‘Naked cakes’ are still on trend and can be a great choice for a spring wedding. Add your chosen flowers to reflect the season and bring colour to the cake.

Flower crowns are coming back into fashion and are a great way of adding more colour to your outfit. If this is too much for the bride, we also think they look adorable on flower girls.

Pastel bridesmaid dresses are also popular during spring. Don’t be afraid to get the men involved and add splashes of colour to their outfits with bold ties, bowties and buttonholes.

Finally, go big and bold with some floral designs throughout the day. Grand archways, staircases, table plans, place settings and even our swing can be enhanced with beautiful flowers. These make a great focal point for photographs throughout the day and will definitely create a WOW factor for your guests.
