When Laura and Matthias arrived at Dundas Castle, it was very clear from the start that their special 2-day wedding was going to be all about family and love.

Laura and Matthias were such a joy to work with, they were taking in every special memory they were creating with us here at Dundas and the love between them both shone from start to finish.

We have not added anything to the narrative from Laura and Mattias; their own words sum up their day beautifully, as you will read below!

“Choosing Dundas as our venue was the easiest wedding decision ever. We actually only went to view it to tick it off the list, but when we walked in, we fell in love. It was a rainy day in February when we went to view it and that sold it even more for us; even on a drizzly, cold, grey day the venue was still stunning. We had a lot of family and friends travelling over from Germany, so wanted to show them the beauty of Scotland and Dundas was perfect for that; all of our guests LOVED the Castle, the Auld Keep and the grounds. Dundas is so stunningly perfect.

“When we booked Dundas, we didn´t know how good the team would be, but oh my goodness, we could not have done it without them. Katy is honestly an angel sent from heaven, made to be a Wedding Fairy-Godmother. She thought through every detail of the weekend with me and nothing was ever too much. But not only Katy, the wider team are all amazing and going the extra mile is their speciality.

“What I loved about our wedding was living in the Castle as if it was our home for the weekend; we really made ourselves at home and enjoyed the full venue.

“I can’t actually pick a favourite moment of the day but the ceremony was so special for us – not only because of the surroundings of the Auld Keep but because Matthias finally got down on one knee and asked me to marry him (he hadn´t technically popped the question until then)! It all felt very personal with our vows, friends doing readings and Matthias´s family also gave us a little performance with his Mum on the organ and his Aunt singing for us during the ceremony.

“We were on an absolute high after the ceremony and it just got better and better as the day went on. We honestly cannot stop going through the pictures and just wishing we could do it all over again.

“We´ll never forget our Wedding Day and we´re just hoping some of our friends get married there so we can do it again!”
