12 May Real Wedding: Michelene and Dave
Michelene and Dave made their wedding celebration unique by combining their South African and Scottish roots. Moments like having ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ playing while they were cutting their gorgeous safari silhouette wedding cake, and celebrating their first dance to ‘500 miles’ by the Proclaimers, were moments of pure joy and a wonderful reflection of the couple.
They ‘tied the knot’ in our 600 year Auld Keep, surrounded by their closest friends and family. A harpist played a carefully curated selection of music which set a soft romantic atmosphere during the ceremony. The wedding party then enjoyed a relaxing drink in the front hall while the speeches commenced from the grand staircase.
Michelene and Dave had some beautiful photographs taken throughout the grounds and on the roof of the Keep before joining their guests for dinner in the Pavilion. They danced the night away with a mix of Scottish ceilidh and classic hits played by the brilliant White Doves band.
“We would like to thank Dundas Castle and all the staff for our fairy tale day. You guys took care of every detail, your excellent organising skills & working so well with our wedding planner that was located in South Africa. We loved every second of our special day.
We can’t tell you how many guests from all over the world said what a spectacular venue Dundas Castle is and how all the guests felt they got treated like royalty. Was definitely a day to remember. – Michelene & David x”
