11 May Real Wedding: Louise & James, July 2022
In front of over 100 family and friends, Louise and James said ‘I do’ here at Dundas Castle. For this two-day celebration, their loved ones stayed in the Castle bedrooms, allowing for a peaceful morning before the festivities began.
The morning of the wedding captured the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids in the Winter bedroom with views over the lawn. James chose to prepare for the big day in the Orchid bedroom and then met his ushers in the Billiards Room for some relaxed photographs before heading to the ceremony.
The couple’s choice of ceremony space was our beautiful Courtyard, which on some days in Scotland needs its clear span cover; but this did not take away any part of the area’s elegance. Louise walked down the aisle to meet James and tie the knot in front of their nearest and dearest.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds set off for their photographs around the Castle and manicured grounds. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception on the expansive gravel drive in front of the Castle, with a saxophonist and live string quartet. An added sweet treat was provided by Luca’s ice-cream van, with delicious ice-creams served for all the guests to enjoy.
The happy couple were later piped down the stairs in the Front Hall and made their way to greet their guests and cut their wedding cake.
In the late afternoon, the wedding party headed to the Pavilion, which was lit up by festoon lighting creating a romantic atmosphere for the evening. Guests heard special speeches, debuted The Listers to take their first dance as Mr and Mrs, and then danced the night away to a wonderful live band. The perfect ending to a wonderful wedding day.
