27 Nov Real Wedding: Aline and Ross, June 2024
Aline and Ross had a truly spectacular summer wedding at Dundas Castle. The day was full of emotion and joyous moments shared with their 170 guests.
Their special day began with the groomsmen getting ready in the Billiards Room while Aline and her bridesmaids finished preparing in Spring bedroom. The day had a fun disco theme with a complementary colour scheme of pastel orange, pink, and blue. The bridesmaids wore rose gold dresses in various styles and Aline’s statement headband and bold floral veil added unique elements to her timeless dress.
Their ceremony took place on the front lawn overlooking the Castle with a beautiful low floral meadow at the end of the aisle. Once the wedding party was in place, Aline and her brother arrived in a vintage Beauford Tourer and walked across the lawn to meet Ross. Their adored golden labrador, Disco, delivered their rings during their heartfelt vows. The newlyweds completed their nuptials with Scottish traditions such as drinking from a quaich and having a handfasting with their family tartan.
A piper played as guests then moved to the drinks reception to enjoy a glass of fizz and decadent canapes. The new Mr & Mrs enjoyed some time letting the day sink in and taking photographs around the estate. Then, they rejoined their guests to cut their cake, raise a toast, and get group shots.
The Pavilion was adorned with more showstopping florals and pops of sparkling disco balls. A mixture of high and low centrepieces and delicate posey arrangements were placed on each table, and a gorgeous installation was suspended above the dancefloor. The wedding party was piped down to the Pavilion before tucking into a delicious three-course meal.
Aline changed into a gorgeous satin dress for the evening, complete with a beaded cape. The newlyweds started the party with a fun first dance, followed by a ceilidh and two DJ performances. Guests enjoyed artisan pizzas before a fireworks finale – the perfect end to a dreamy summer wedding.
