21 Oct Real Wedding: Charlynn and Patrick, May 2025
Charlynn and Patrick travelled from Utah, USA, with 19 of their closest friends and family for a cosy Scottish wedding celebration. On the day of arrival, guests relaxed and made themselves at home with a selection of the best whiskies to sample alongside a grazing board of fine Scottish meats and cheeses. A wedding rehearsal took place before the party enjoyed an evening in South Queensferry.
Their wedding day began with a relaxed morning of preparations before the bride and groom had an emotional first look. Charlynn chose a statement celestial veil with intricate details, while Patrick sported a traditional Scottish kilt. The ceremony was truly magical with music from the hit series Outlander playing in the historic Auld Keep as Charlynn walked down the aisle. After making their vows, the couple chose to ‘tie the knot’ with a traditional Scottish handfasting and sharing their first drink from a quaich.
Following the ceremony, the new Mr & Mrs Shields had some beautiful photographs taken on the Castle roof and throughout the grounds. After raising a glass to the newlyweds, guests joined them in the Stag Chamber for a candlelit feast, decorated with fresh white florals and touches of pheasant feathers. A cocktail and whisky reception set the tone for an evening of dancing and enjoying the piano in the Blue Drawing Room.
