04 Dec REAL WEDDING: Alexandra & Lewis, September 2023
Alexandra and Lewis had a gorgeous summer wedding with their 120 cherished guests. The celebration included some classic Scottish traditions and had many unforgettable moments.
The day before the wedding was a relaxed gathering of immediate family, the bridal party, and groomsmen at Dundas. The estate provided the perfect backdrop for lawn games and leisurely walks. A rehearsal in the Courtyard set the stage for the heartfelt ‘I do’ moments to come. The evening concluded with pre-dinner drinks in the Castle’s Armoury, followed by a sumptuous three-course meal in the Stag Chamber. Guests then raised a glass to the imminent union with a nightcap in the Castle’s cosy Library.
The big day kickstarted with a hearty Scottish breakfast, a round of billiards for the groomsmen and bridal party preparations. Soon enough, guests began to arrive and were piped round to the Castle’s Courtyard to take their seats, patiently waiting for the bride to arrive. Alexandra, escorted by her father, met Lewis at the altar to make their vows to one another.
The newlyweds ventured to the Auld Keep for post-ceremony photos, capturing the ‘just-wed’ excitement on the roof of the 600-year-old castle. The new Mr and Mrs Bradie-Thom got to enjoy a peaceful five minutes before re-joining the wedding party, allowing them to toast to their marriage, enjoy some canapes and let the occasion sink in.
Greeting their guests from the staircase in the Great Hall, Alexandra and Lewis addressed their wedding party and cut their beautiful four-tier floral cake. They were blessed with warm summer weather, allowing the guests to spill out onto the front lawn and creating the perfect opportunity to capture some beautiful group photos.
The wedding party was then escorted to the Pavilion, where heartfelt speeches captured everyone’s attention. Following a delicious dinner, the celebrations continued with dancing until midnight, ensuring the perfect ending to a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
