18 Oct Real Wedding: Courtney & Mark, May 2022
“It took us two years longer than originally planned to have our special day at Dundas Castle, but when it did finally arrive, it was more perfect than we could have ever imagined and so worth every minute of the wait. We’ll never be able to thank the team at Dundas enough for making all of our wedding dreams come true.
“From the moment we first went to visit the castle in October 2018, we completely fell in love with it. I remember getting butterflies in my tummy as we drove up the driveway, through the colourful autumnal leaves and being welcomed into grand hallway. It was possibly the most beautiful castle we’d ever seen and we knew immediately nothing else could match up to it as a wedding venue. I’d always dreamed of getting married in a traditional Scottish castle, surrounded by beautiful grounds and grand interior. Dundas Castle had it all – and more.
“Our wedding was quickly booked for June 2020, and we couldn’t wait! But little did we know what lay ahead. Due to the pandemic, we rescheduled three times, as were determined to have the big wedding day we’d always wanted. The team at Dundas and all of our suppliers were amazing through it all. Morvern was so accommodating and supportive, which really helped us through the most difficult of times.
“When our big day finally arrived, it was just perfect from start to finish and surpassed everything we thought it would be. There were so many amazing moments, but two of our favourites have got to be saying our vows in the stunning Auld Keep and finishing our evening of dancing in the Pavilion with fireworks. Even when we think about it now, it’s still a bit emotional!
“Almost all of our guests commented on beautiful the venue is. The Auld Keep definitely stole the show for many.
“But as well as Dundas Castle being a first class venue, it’s the first class team that really makes the wedding experience what it is. Our wedding coordinator, Katy, went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and went exactly the way we wanted it to. From assisting guests, to running to get things in an emergency, to keeping us calm – she was just amazing. The rest of the team were also fantastic, I felt like I had three extra bridesmaids at one point as they helped to carry my dress. They did everything they could to make sure we had no stresses and they truly succeeded. We wish we could do it all again!”
