Real Wedding: Liza and Joey, July 2018

Liza and Joey, July 2018

Liza and Joey travelled to Dundas Castle from North Carolina, USA, for a couple of days to celebrate their marriage. On the day of their arrival, the group enjoyed taking part in some highland games on the lawn followed by a rehearsal dinner in our Croquet Room. Their wedding day was filled with many special moments including the emotional ceremony which took place in our 600 year Auld Keep. Liza and Joey also had their cake made by Nancy Birtwhistle, the winner of the 2014 Great British Bake Off. We were told by guests that it was as delicious as it looked. We hope you enjoy looking through their photographs as much as we did.

“We decided to get married in Scotland so that we could really soak in every moment of our wedding. When we found Dundas Castle and realised we could have a two day Castle wedding in beautiful South Queensferry, we knew it would be perfect. We had never seen the venue until we got there the day before the wedding. This might have made us nervous but it didn’t at all because the staff was so easy to communicate with and prepared for the big day.

“From the moment we drove up the driveway of Dundas until we left the morning after the wedding everything was magical. The staff was incredibly helpful, fun, and easy to work with. Anything we needed, they had it for us. Our guests cannot stop telling us how amazing the whole experience was and the pictures with Dundas as the backdrop are absolutely incredible. The fact that we were able to have highland games in the grounds, a beautiful rehearsal dinner in the gorgeous setting of the newer part of the Castle, a ceremony in the Auld Keep, and then a reception in the pavilion is more than any couple could ask for.” – Liza and Joey
